Cardiac Electrophysiologic Mapping and Stimulation Software

Case ID:
UA17-201
Invention:

This invention is patented software developed for MATLAB capable of performing electrophysiological studies with human disease models.

Background:
Simulation studies aid with the advancement of cardiovascular research by complementing experimental studies. Current technologies have not utilized a proper recording method in their software. The software presented here is more accurate than competing technologies, like LabChart, and boasts novel use of recording data.

Applications:

  • In-vivo animal models
  • Validating phenotypes of genetically-modified animals
  • Study of cardiotoxic effects of novel therapeutics
  • Cardiac monitoring
  • Pharmaceuticals

Advantages:

  • Able to record and analyze potential in regard to monophasic action potentials and unipolar and bipolar voltage electrograms
  • Interloping data into two-dimensional colormaps
  • Capable of stimulating a chronotropic response or inducing arrhythmia

Status: issued U.S. patent #10,856,938
