Treadmill with Soft Ambulatory Surfaces

Case ID:
UA25-234
Invention:

This invention is a specialized treadmill to study rat gait and mobility on simulated extraterrestrial terrains. This treadmill uses various harness-based gravity simulators and sensors for real-time physiological data collection. It can be used on a variety of ambulatory surfaces and used for many different applications.

Background:
Currently, there are various small animal treadmills that can be used for gait research and analyzing animal mobility. However, there are no small animal treadmills that simulate extraterrestrial terrains. This invention helps with specialized animal studies that can be used for a variety of purposes and applications.

Applications:

  • Small animal treadmill
  • Gait and mobility research
  • Extraterrestrial terrain mobility research

Advantages:

  • Specialized treadmill for small animal research
  • More accurate gait research
  • Real-time data collection
  • Can be used in many applications
