Invention:
This technology is a standalone solution that provides water purification and solar power generation to individual households in remote areas or areas with no power grid. The physical purification and power equipment is designed with software that enables the equipment to be tailored and optimized for the location it is deployed.
Background:
Reliable access to safe drinking water is one of the global health challenges. According to the World Health Organization, over 750 million people lack access to a basic drinking water service, and approximately 485,000 people die every year due to diseases contracted from contaminated water, such as cholera and dysentery.
This problem is especially difficult to address in remote areas where it may not be possible to power traditional water purification equipment. As a result, there is a need for water purification technologies that can provide adequate clean water, yet do not rely on an existing power grid.
This technology uses a novel approach to solve this problem. Rather than providing one single, expensive purification system that people must travel to use, it provides a single, inexpensive unit that efficiently harnesses the power of the sun to provide the necessary clean water for an individual household in combination with providing electricity to the household as well.
Applications:
- Water filtration
- Power generation
Advantages:
- Inexpensive
- Sustainable
- Low-maintenance
- Convenient for remote locations
- Optimized for efficiency
