In the Americas with David Yetman is an HDTV series that takes an in depth look at the heartland of Arizona, New Mexico, Sonora, and Chihuahua, and its peripheries and brings the region into the spotlight for the general audience. This show undertakes a new approach to travel and adventure with a focus on the western continents and islands. Season 10 covers the Four Corners, Colorado Plateau, northwest New Mexico, the Northern Jaguar Preserve on the US/Mexico border, San Ignacio Lagoon in Baja California, Lake Powell, and more.
Background:
The Southwest Center, an initiative of the University of Arizona, seeks to define, illuminate, and present through research, teaching, and publishing the character of the Greater Southwest. Each country within the Greater Southwest contains landscapes, peoples, and history that have not received the attention that it deserves.
Award-winning cinematographer, Dan Duncan, and the In the America’s team uncover the geographic and cultural diversity of the Americas. From Japanese immigrants in the Amazon to descendants of poor Italians in Chile, from Mayan temples in Guatemala to ancient fortresses in Mexico, from the glacier-carved frigid barrens of northern Canada to the timeless villages of the Altiplano in Perú, this series showcases the Americas in an intimate and distinct way.
