Hub and Spoke Mushrooms

Case ID:
UA21-140
Invention:

This invention is a controlled mushroom harvesting system that has applications in restaurants, markets, and cafeterias.

Background:
The mushroom cultivation process is unique and specialty mushrooms can be extremely delicate and hard to transport. The main environmental factors that contribute to optimal fruiting conditions are temperature, relative humidity, carbon dioxide, and lighting. This fruiting chamber is a controlled-environment capable of managing all of these variables. This point-of-harvest system brings fresh ingredients that normally could not have been provided to the customer and community.

Applications:

  • Growing specialty mushrooms

Advantages:

  • Ease of use
  • Remote monitoring
  • Controlled environment
  • Point of use production
