Invention:
This invention is an IgG2b monoclonal antibody that targets vitamin D receptor (VDR) and is made and derived from Lewis rats with partially purified chicken intestinal vitamin D receptor.
Background:
1,25-dihydroxyvitamin D3 receptor (VDR) is implicated in a range of inflammatory, dermatological, osteoporosis, cancers and autoimmune conditions. The 9A7 monoclonal antibody was first cloned in the 1980s and has significant interest in being licensed for commercial purposes.
The inventors have noted that the IgG2b 9A7 antibody is made in Lewis rats with partially purified chicken intestinal 1,25-dihydroxyvitamin D3 receptor.
Applications:
- Commercial applications towards a range of conditions
Advantages:
- Previously cloned and characterized antibody
- Significant interest in licensing for commercial applications
- Relatively easy to make, as it is made in Lewis rats with partially purified chicken intestinal VDR
