Invention:
The invention, known as the County Marker, is an innovative variation on the retroreflective raised pavement marker (RRPM). The unique design features two yellow retroreflectors that produce a double yellow signal when viewed at night. The design can serve as a no passing zone line.
Background:
Standard RRPMs are currently on the outside of the double yellow lines and may be used as a substitute to separate opposite directions of traffic. RRPMs have value in guiding drivers and increasing safety. The Federal Highway Administration has proposed new rules on pavement markings in the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices, presenting an opportunity for the County Marker to enter the market.
