Program for Writing Customized Exams for Large Classes with Randomized Numbers Embedded while Enabling Grading to be Done with Detail

Case ID:
UA21-004
Invention:

This invention is an efficient software package/code that creates individually distinct and randomized exams that would enable faculty to feel more confident that students were doing their own work and could make cheating easier to detect.

Background:
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, most universities, primary schools, and institutions have turned to online classes to reduce the spread and accommodate students and faculty. With this transition comes another set of problems mostly revolving around cheating and academic integrity. Not all proctoring solutions are ideal, cost effective, reliable, or available.

This software would give faculty the ability to adapt the code or automate it so there is access to a user interface that anyone across all disciplines would be able to use to produce individual exams.

Applications:

  • Large class online testing

Advantages:

  • Cost effective
  • Secure
