Using Electroluminance Technologies To Visually Indicate Building Structure Integrity

Case ID:
UA15-190
Invention:

This technology addresses the issue of non-trained individuals to be able to monitor the integrity of a building. This is done by connecting a sensor to a circuit board that relays the information to an electroluminescent display module.

Background:
Electroluminescence is the process of applying voltage to a material until it illuminates with color. There are pre-existing sensors that measure the integrity of buildings by applying current, pressure, or ultra-sonic waves. These signals can be sent to a display for visual inspection of the test structure.

Applications:

  • Civil Engineering
  • Oil and gas
  • Automotive industry
  • Buildings

Advantages:

  • Inexpensive
  • User-friendly
